Owls is an Austrian jazz piano trio whose music is rooted in the tradition of European jazz but transcends stylistic borders in a refreshing and unconventional way, combining elements from jazz, electronic music, classical music and pop - all with an unwavering commitment to sound aesthetics. The creative core of the trio is formed by its two founding members, pianist and composer Simon Oberleitner and drummer Konstantin Kräutler-Horváth, who are constantly expanding the format for collaborations. To complete the trio setting, they are currently joined by double bassist Oliver Steger. Since their establishment in 2015, they have released three albums: “Crumbling Light" (ATS Records), "Wendolins Monocle" (Intersections) and "Light Works" (Col Legno, Autumn 2024), that are all conceptualized to explore the relationship of human beings to each other and to their environment.
